Board of Directors
In 1989 the Watertown Food Pantry Board of Directors was created. The pantry was incorporated with the State of Wisconsin as a tax-exempt entity. The Pantry also created its own set of By Laws, which were filed with the State of Wisconsin, and the Pantry Board was established as a non-stock board. This is renewed annually with the State. At this same time the Pantry was established as a non-profit, private organization with the I.R.S., and received 5.01 (C)(3) tax exempt status.
The Watertown Food Pantry Board of Directors is comprised of no less than 10 members. Members are representatives from area churches. Each church appoints no more than 2 members to represent their church. If there are more than 2 members serving, they are considered as “members at large”.
In special circumstances, area organization or area business may be admitted by a simple majority vote of the Watertown Food Pantry Board.
From those members, the Board selects the following officers: President, Vice-President, Secretary and Treasurer.
In addition, the Watertown Food Pantry Board appoints its members to serve in the following areas: Purchasing, Volunteer Coordinator, Transportation and Publicity.
